For too long, Kokborok has lived beautifully in the mouth and in the memory. Now, with Yapiri, it has the chance to live equally beautifully on the page. But a script without writers is like a river without rain — it cannot truly flow.
That is why we are making this open call.
We need Kokborok writers. We need Kokborok readers. We need storytellers, poets, songwriters, teachers, parents, young people, and elders who are willing to pick up these new glyphs and make them their own.
Why This Matters Now
Yapiri was designed from the sounds and soul of our language. It is clean, modern, and deeply rooted. Yet its true strength will only emerge when it is used — when poems are written in it, when children read stories in it, when love letters and village announcements and school lessons begin to appear in these characters.
Every word you write in Yapiri is an act of cultural sovereignty. Every sentence you read strengthens the path toward official recognition, educational use, and a living literary tradition. And right now, community use is the single most important factor in Yapiri's journey toward Unicode encoding — a permanent place for Kokborok in the global digital text infrastructure.
